The essentials

Fair price: about 1 400 DH. If someone lets it go for under 1 200 DH, ask why before you go.
Not for years: it’s 8 years old and can’t install iOS 27.
Before you pay: the seller signs out of iCloud in front of you.

What to check before you pay

Five minutes that save you a headache:

Dial *#06#. The IMEI must match the one in Settings › General › About and on the box.
Genuine parts: on that same screen, if the battery shows “Unknown”, that part isn’t a genuine Apple part.
iCloud signed out and Find My iPhone off, in front of you. Otherwise the iPhone stays locked. Don’t buy a locked phone, not even at a discount.
A grey image in full screen. If you see stains or the shadow of icons, the screen has burn-in.
Battery: Settings › Battery › Battery Health. If it heats up or drains fast, plan on replacing it.
A call, Wi-Fi, the cameras and charging.

How we measure it

On 8 October 2026 we read 39 listings for the iPhone XS Max on marketplaces in Morocco and removed the ones that didn’t count: no photo, no price, a different model, broken, or a bait price.

17 listings were left; the price comes from the 12 in good condition: the middle band, without the cheapest 25% or the most expensive 25%.

The condition is what the seller declares and the price is the asking price: in the end, it gets negotiated.
